AMHAAC is the Abbotsford Mental Health and Addictions Advisory Council. We are a group of 26, comprised of one representative from each mental health service provider in Abbotsford, BC, and meet once every month. Our goal is to advocate and promote positive mental health within our community, by providing a forum to discuss current issues, gaps of services, and new initiatives to better enhance mental health services for consumers, family and community. We make recommendations to the Regional Mental Health Advisory Council and/or advocate directly to the appropriate agencies to enhance mental health services.
We also oversee the appointment of Consumer, Family Community Initiatives (CFCI) Committee that manages all CFCI proposals, awards and disbursment of CFCI funds within our community. |
